I would like to build things I believe can be useful and potentially make a difference. This is a difficult journey to take alone. I would enjoy being part of a team that not only appreciates the strides I've already made, but also encourages my growth as a software professional. Due to my recent relocation, I am only looking for remote opportunities at this time.
I've always had an interest in technology, and have been an adept end user. Sometime in the early 2000's, my interest deepened. I started building my own computers and tinkered with HTML, before CSS became a thing!
A few years ago, after having an iPhone for a while, the idea of creating apps took hold. I wanted to get into actually creating programs, instead of just using them. I played with iOS development, and had an app in the App Store. I am also teaching myself Python.
Illustrating the "problem" of wanting to learn, I have yet to master Python and Swift, but recently I have also discovered an interest in QA/Testing/Unit Testing/Databases/Backends... As with programming, there are so many rabbit holes to go down that I have dabbled in- IoT, Raspberry Pi, API, Docker and drones to name a few... It's hard to know where to start, let alone where to end, or what to focus on. More doors, more opportunities, more education!!!
In some of my previous positions, I have also been involved in "QA/testing." My involvement was limited to performing tasks, or what is now better understood as "test case" and "exploratory testing", not creating the scenarios. I understood the necessity of testing, but until I started trying to create software, did I start comprehending the VALUE of it.
This section is a sample of the technologies/software/languages/platforms/tools with which I have experience. Some have been utilized (much) more than others. (For the items listed, I did more than change a single item to say I have "experience".) You know how it goes, learn just enough of something to get something else done!
